Once upon a time
these tombs were built by the Qutub Shahi rulers around 1600 AD and served as their mausoleums. Legend has it that they were once furnished with carpets, chandeliers and velvet canopies on silver poles.Their current state however , is … umm there for you to see.
entry to the tombs closes at 5 pm but we reached after 6:30 and INR 40(~1$) got us through, especially my tripod which ironically is the only instance in india (othewise harassed by anti-tripod rule at every historical monument) that i managed to get it through !!!
