water paintings

long exposure at dawn from the lookout for McWay Falls, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, CA.

The waterfall falls almost right into the ocean and is one of the highlights of this section of Big Sur Coast. Thanks to the low contrast lighting early morning with a hint of mist , a cropped section of the photo (rather than the panorama with the falls) where the waves make a painting on the canvas of sand and rocks , makes for a more interesting viewing.

30s exposure of the Pacific waters resulting in a serene soothing frame. Pacific waters in the morning were much calmer than I had imagined. This specific view is from one of the pullouts further south of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park,  CA
