eye of the (butter) fly

Lake Crescent, Olympic N.P

try shooting a sharp macro (eyes in focus) on a nectar seeking butterfly and you realize how difficult it is.took me about an hour to get one decent photograph. I have a new-found respect for macro and insect photographers !

    • the macro world is fascinating…unlike landscapes and potraits where you are usually struggling to capture what you envison, its the opposite here – your real eyes dont yet see and is revealed to you only later when you go 1:1

well, now that you did i learnt a new word (proboscis) :)
