Portrait,lighting & props

one light strobe through shoot-through umbrella, camera right , July 2012

my experiments with portrait lighting is ongoing as and when opportunity presents. It is very fascinating and I’ve got the basic setup required to help start. The current challenge I am facing in doing outdoor portrait (with strobes and modifiers) is the wind and the form factor in general. I was focusing on lighting first and support later but looks like I’ve to work the other way around.  I’ve rented a C-stand a couple of times now and so far it has potential. Now all I need to carry a few sacks of sandbags along …. and a few hours of workout in the gym everyday to haul this around… and a few assistants to help carry these stuff in the field at my disposal wouldn’t harm either :)
