Lecce – the Baroque splendour

Lecce

La cattedrale metropolitana di Santa Maria Assunta, Duomo di Lecce

Lecce (pronounced Lech-eh) is called as the ‘Baroque of the South’ or sometimes ‘Florence of the South’. I have not been to Florence so I can’t compare the two, but baroque architecture –  floral patterns and flamboyant motifs was indeed special. a student of baroque or art in general, would have a lot of fun exploring this part of Italy
