Morocco Postcards – Casablanca

Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca, Morocco

Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca on the banks of Atlantic Ocean, Designed by French architect Michel Pinseau.

The details inside the mosque is quite exquisite and warrants spending a few hours. We just had one hour in between getting in and out of Casablanca (transit) and were not sure if it was worth getting to the mosque (~40 km from airport), as it was cloudy and getting dark (~5 pm, Nov). In end it was an impulsive decision to still catch a quick glimpse but  it got progressively darker and cloudier (started drizzling) and by all accounts looked like we made a bad choice – till the lights in the mosque came alive and contrasted with the blue hour to make a beautiful frame
